Tasting – Parkers Estate
This Sauvignon Blanc from Parkers
Estate from the year 2016. From California the wine was sale, and won bronze
and silver medals in 2015 for international competitions.
The
winemaker noted the wine as, “A blend of sun-exposed and shade-grown grapes
were selected for the Parkers Estate Sauvignon Blanc. The sun-exposed grapes
provide nuances of tropical fruit while the shaded clusters provide herbal
aromas. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and the juice was fermented in
stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit flavors. Gentle filtration
removed residual yeast and the wine was cold-bottled in the spring.”
A
reviewer wrote, “Light crisp. Nice minerality. Limestone and granite. White
peach lemon, lychee, grapefruit. Very toned down and almost watery.”
I do not particularly enjoy white
wines and this one was much of the same for me. Light and clean it was easy to
drink, may have paired well with lighter foods but I did not have food with it.
